Archaebalaenoptera castriarquati
Taxonomy
Archaebalaenoptera castriarquati was named by Bisconti (2007) [SBAER = Soprintendenza per i Beni Arheologici dell'Emilia Romagna (Italy)]. Its type specimen is SBAER 240536, a skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Rio Carbonari, which is in a Piacenzian coastal sandstone in Italy. It is the type species of Archaebalaenoptera.
