Plesiochoffatia was named by Hahn and Hahn (1999).

It was assigned to Paulchoffatiinae by Kielan-Jaworowska and Hurum (2001), Kielan-Jaworowska et al. (2004).

Synonyms

Parachoffatia was named by Hahn and Hahn (1998). Its type is Parachoffatia thoas.

It was replaced with Plesiochoffatia by Hahn and Hahn (1999), Kielan-Jaworowska and Hurum (2001), Kielan-Jaworowska et al. (2004).

It was assigned to Paulchoffatiidae by Hahn and Hahn (1998).
