Taxonomy
Thetis cerina was named by Adams (1845) [DISTRIBUTION: Holocene-Recent; Western Atlantic.]. It is extant. It is the type species of Gouldia, Thetis.

It was recombined as Gouldia cerina by da Silva Forti (1969), Woodring (1982), Coan and Valentich-Scott (2012).
