Brancasaurus brancai
Taxonomy
Brancasaurus brancai was named by Wegner (1914). Its type specimen is GWWU A3.B4 (Geomuseum der Westfaelischen Wilhems-Universitaet, Münster, Germany), a skeleton (Almost complete skeleton with partial skull), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Gerdemann clay pit, Gronau, which is in a Berriasian estuary/bay shale/claystone in the Bückeberg Formation of Germany. It is the type species of Brancasaurus.
