Belongs to Arctonyx according to W.D. Matthew and W.T. Granger 1923
Sister taxon: Arctonyx collaris
Type specimen: AMNH 18393, a skull (skull lacking the zygomatic arches). Its type locality is Yen-ching-kao, which is in a Pleistocene/Pleistocene terrestrial horizon in China.
Ecology: scansorial carnivore-omnivore
Distribution:
• Quaternary of China (2 collections)
Total: 2 collections each including a single occurrence
