Sister taxon: Avimimus portentosus

Type specimen: MPC-D 102/81, a partial skull. Its type locality is Avimimus bonebed, Nemegt, which is in a Maastrichtian coarse channel fill sandstone/sandstone in the Nemegt Formation of Mongolia.

Ecology: ground dwelling omnivore

Distribution: found only at Avimimus bonebed, Nemegt
