Type specimen: CIT 10453, an other (scale). Its type locality is Oxnard Oil Company well Vanoni No. 1, which is in a Pliocene basinal (siliceous) horizon in California.

Distribution: found only at Oxnard Oil Company well Vanoni No. 1
