Type specimen: SDSM 68430, a partial skeleton (partial postcranial skeleton including vertebrae, ribs, and an almost complete right hindlimb). Its type locality is SDSM locality V9131, which is in a Campanian marine horizon in the Pierre Shale Formation of South Dakota.
Ecology: ground dwelling carnivore
Distribution: found only at SDSM locality V9131
