Sister taxa: Proansomys badamae, Proansomys daxnerae

Type specimen: IVPP V18534.5, a tooth. Its type locality is Tieersihabahe section (XJ 98035), which is in an Oligocene terrestrial horizon in the Tieersihabahe Formation of China.

Ecology: fossorial herbivore

Distribution:
