Type specimen: Amherst Coll. Mus. 34-52, a partial skeleton (pair of lower jaws, upper molar 1, and both front legs). Its type locality is Aletomeryx Quarry, which is in a Hemingfordian terrestrial horizon in the Runningwater Formation of Nebraska.
Ecology: ground dwelling carnivore
Distribution:
• Miocene of United States (5: Nebraska, Wyoming collections)
Total: 5 collections each including a single occurrence
