Type specimen: MNRJ 1470-V, a tooth (Right m2 or 3). Its type locality is São José de Itaborai, which is in an Eocene fissure fill marl in the Itaboraí Formation of Brazil.
Ecology: scansorial herbivore
Distribution: found only at São José de Itaborai
