Type specimen: IGM 7466, a partial skeleton (Well preserved skeleton with the head and first vertebrae separated from the body and part of the tail missing). Its type locality is Site IGM-370, Tlayúa Quarry (Aranguthy quarry), which is in an Albian/Albian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal lime mudstone in the Tlayúa Formation of Mexico.
