Where: Tooele County, Utah (40.1° N, 113.8° W)
• Paleocoordinates: 21.3° N, 32.8° W (Wright 2013)
• coordinate based on nearby landmark
• small collection-level geographic resolution
When: Plympton Formation (Park City Group), Capitanian (264.3 - 259.5 Ma)
• 14 feet above base of measured section, "Gerster Tongue" of Plympton Formation.
•Davydov et al. (2018) dated an ash bed in the upper Meade Peak Mb (Phosphoria Formation) as latest Capitanian, 260.57 Ma. The Plympton Formation is traditionally thought to be equivalent in northeastern Nevada to the Meade Peak of Utah and Idaho. These collections come from the upper Plympton Formation, near the contact with the Gerster Formation, so are likely Capitanian in age.
