• Paleocoordinates: 81.0° N, 127.1° W (Wright 2013)

• coordinate estimated from map

• hand sample-level geographic resolution

When: Sagwon Member (Sagavanirktok Formation), Eocene (56.0 - 33.9 Ma)

• Lower to middle Eocene. Below log layer.

Environment/lithology: marine; lithology not reported

Size class: microfossils

Preservation: original sporopollenin

Collected by Thomas A. Ager in 1984

Collection methods: bulk, chemical, hydrochloric, hydroflouric,

• The sample was processed using normal palynological techniques of HCl; HF; HNO3; short centrifugation with soapy water to remove fines; and heavy liquid separation using a ZnCl2 liquid of 1.45 s.g. A relatively light heavy liquid was used in order to remove the abundant black woody material in the sample. The residues were stained with Bismarck brown. The final step of residue preparation was screening to remove unwanted fine material, using 8 µm or 10 µm sieves. The residues were mounted in glycerine jelly.
