• The material was scattered, and one drop of hydrochloric acid was added to test for the presence of carbonates. HCl (30%) and HF (45%) were applied successively, and washings were carried out using distilled water until the sample was neutralized after each acid. In some cases, it was necessary to repeat the procedure with HF. Then, they were treated with hot HCl to disaggregate the organic matter and filtered through 25 μm and 10 μm meshes. Gelatin-glycerin and a drop of formalin were used as mounting medium. The palynological study was carried out using a Leica DM 500 optical microscope and an AmScope 14 MPixels video camera. The optical instruments belong to the Palynology and Paleobotany Laboratory of the CICYTTP (CONICET-ENTRE RIOS-UADER) located in Diamante, Entre Ríos. The studied material has been deposited at the Paleopalynology collection of the Palynology and Paleobotany Laboratory at the CICYTTP Research Center (CONICET- ENTRE RIOS-UADER) and was identified under the initials CICYTTP-Pl 1373 to CICYTTP-Pl 1396
