Environment/lithology: slope; lithified, calcareous claystone and lithified lime mudstone

• like the Walcott Quarry and most other soft-bodied assemblages of the Burgess Shale, occurs in direct association with the Cathedral Escarpment, a major break in submarine topography. The new assemblage was preserved on the offshore margin of the escarpment.

• 2-m horizon of fine-grained claystones near the top of the Stephen Formation
